2017年9-12月雅思口语Emails

雅思口语emails的问题和handwriting是风水轮流转。上半年考完了handwriting,下半年开始又回归了老题库。在Part2中也有类似的话题‘an important letter that you received recently',其实这里可以回答邮件,也可以回答手写信,更可以回答录取通知书、交通处罚告知书等。

IELTS Speaking Question 1: Do you send and receive email regularly?

Answer A: I have signed up for many newsletters, google news and other websites, so I do receive emails on daily basis, but they are usually mails from the company. Apart from these, I do get mails regarding work, so our team is mostly in touch using mails. With friends, I am mostly in touch using social media, so there is no point of any other interaction online. I do reply to mails that are regarding work or sometimes chat with people on google hangouts.

Answer B: Yes! As I am working for an IT company, so it’s an integral part of my job to send and receive email regularly. The entire process of communication between me and my colleagues takes place via email.

Answer C: Frankly speaking, I don’t use email as a mode of communication. So, I don’t send and receive emails regularly. Rather, I tend to prefer texting or calling my colleagues.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 2: Who do you usually communicate with?

Answer: Well, I always use email as an official way of sending and receiving information. I usually communicate with my colleagues and seniors regarding official work.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 3: How often do you check your email?

Answer A: As I am a customer service executive, so I have to check my emails very frequently. In fact, I have to keep my email ID logged in to give quick response to the customers. It also helps in improving the service quality of my firm.

Answer B: Frankly speaking, I don’t feel the need to check my emails very frequently. I log in to my email account once a week. I only get some commercial notifications on email, so it’s not required to check my emails regularly.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 4: How often do you check your mail?

Answer : Well, regularly. May be on a daily basis, I would say. Mails are important for me, because my work does not allows me to meet as many people for networking, so we mostly connect using mails, delaying the work does not makes sense.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 5: Do you think writing emails has strengthened or weakened people’s writing skills?

Answer A: Definitely strengthened. We are not talking about the informal mails to friends and family where one just sends in message in whatever language they want. But, if talking about the formal mails or the semi-formal mails, people have surely improved. Because, earlier it was one to one talk, but now along with talk there are messages being send. And I think writing mails gives an idea of the language as well.

Answer B: In my opinion, writing emails has a positive effect on the writing skills of people. As we all know that email is one of the most frequently used modes of formal communication. Therefore, it’s practically true that a person becomes more organized in his writing while compiling formal content.

Answer C: As far as I am concerned, communicating via email has a negative effect on the writing skills of people in many ways. Some applications like auto-correction and spelling checkers have dragged the level of English down, especially grammar and vocabulary. Rather than being aiding tools, they have sub standardized the level of writing skills.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 6: What are some of the disadvantages of mails?

Answer A: I think the major issue with mails is that they carry viruses. So, someone might just drop in a mail having a virus and it can harm the entire computer. In worst cases, it can  can read out your email address book and send themselves to a number of people around the world. The second issue is that one often gets spam messages, a lot. So, if a person does not knows the difference, it surely creates a havoc.

Answer B: There are many disadvantages of emails. But, according to me, spams or unwanted emails pose a serious problem. They often carry dangerous viruses which can damage our computers. Moreover, I think that it needs a person to be very tech-savvy to use this service; it requires an email account, a working internet connection and a computer at both the ends.
